Extractions
Extractions or the pulling of teeth are performed for a few different reasons:
- Decay is so extensive that the tooth is not restorable.
- The root is fractured and therefore the tooth cannot be saved.
- Gum disease (periodontitis) has severely broken down the tooth's support structure and is not saveable.
- When finances dictate a more affordable solution to a dental problem.
- When a tooth is growing in a direction that is unfavorable
- Some wisdom teeth
- As part of orthodontic treatment to make room for other teeth.
