Extractions

Extractions or the pulling of teeth are performed for a few different reasons:

  1. Decay is so extensive that the tooth is not restorable.
  2. The root is fractured and therefore the tooth cannot be saved.
  3. Gum disease (periodontitis) has severely broken down the tooth's support structure and is not saveable.
  4. When finances dictate a more affordable solution to a dental problem.
  5. When a tooth is growing in a direction that is unfavorable
  6. Some wisdom teeth
  7. As part of orthodontic treatment to make room for other teeth.
